Ive been thinking of jumping on board this fashion incubator in melb central for a while now.

From what i gather its a mentoring program that helps designers to start themselves off in the industry. Has anyone partaken in this or know anyone who has and whether it was a worthwile investment?

If you want to do design, you are going to need all the help/support/CONTACTS you can get!
Call them up, ask them a few questions. The site is pretty limited on info.

yeah its more the contacts and inside knowledge of the industry that interests me about the program. you can only do so much reading..ha

Australian Fashion Council definitely sounds worthwhile :) As for Fashion Incubator, I did photograph a parade they did as part of last year's Spring Fashion Week... From memory it was part of the official schedule, which isn't a bad bit of exposure! I would say it's worth a shot.
