Can we move past this idea of gender just a little?

Gender only matters in terms of the silhouette. The principal behind design is the same: to elongate the silhouette or innovate

Deep V-necks elongate the neck.
Belts define the waist.

Remember old movies (think Humprhey Bogart) when men wore trench coats with belts?

Not to mention where was everyone in the 70s? You've at least seen that 70s show right?

Even though I've accepted that the majority of Americans see men s fashion as frivolous/ridiculous/ludicrous, I'm a little surprised/annoyed that people who follow runway shows cannot enjoy/appreciate design when it doesn't fit into the context of gender. I'm not saying you have to go out and buy it just.

And hipsters have been wearing this shit for a while now. And trying to categorize clothing as strictly male or female reinforces stereotypes and sexism.

Thanks for the thorough overview. I want men to look like men, so unfortunately I'll have to stick to un-trendy look this season...

Looking back I'm not seeing a single man in drag funnily enough.

I'm not sure Mr. Galliano likes to be thrown.

People like Galliano are very camp but they just reflect their personality, some men are comfortable in jeans and a tshirt. some love to be decked head to toe in something more elaborate(tend to find these are creative/fashion obsessed larger than life personalities) but does it matter either way. If everyone dressed the same we would have anyone to bitch about or icons would not be born.

Personally im glad some men push the boundaries of sexuality/gender and what they can get away with. If there isnt a demand for it mens fashion would become obsolete and be the same every season.

To the guys out there that push the envelope i say well done. To the onces that play it safe i also congratulate you as it must be boring wearing a printed t shirt everyday.

The only way to open your mind is to go and travel and see where fashion is overseas as us poor australians dont see the best of either the female or male industry. This is where sites like this one come in handy so we can see what is going on outside of our safe borders.

So Sorry for that I didn't realize it was posting. I'm new to this site. I was just wondering where exactly online I can guy the "Douchebag V-necks"? I live in Texas and unfortuantely the shopping in my area is not very well it's not at all fashionista! So any site suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Check out American Apparel online Morgan, they have plenty of the deep-v necks.

I'm actually liking many of the fashion trends for men this season. Be it plunging neck lines (which I do admit sounds funny) bright colours that are always welcome in the summer time, think Lacoste or light weight wind breakers that also look great in a bright colour not just your standard black.
Suits are still very fitted to the body and jeans don't think in terms of skinny but fitted, gone are the days of baggy pants hanging off ones back side.
Hair styles are always something to look for in the warmer months and it's always interesting to see what guys will come up with. hopfully not the faux hawk.not thats it's a bad look just one that has been over done in recent years.

What does everyone think of the new line Pretty Green by Liam Gallagher??
If you haven't heard about it or seen some of the designs, check out the following video/doco at www.artistconnected.com

Do you think he can pull it off??
