What the hell happened to Cate Blanchett?

I love Kate Bosworth's and I love Kirsten Dunst's too...think about what the gala is celebrating and her choice makes tonnes of since...Paul Poiret would have adored her.

Classic Black is still a simple favourite for going out. However ruffles, layers and tassles help to add character to the dresses, as can be seen at this years New York Costume Institute Gala event honouring legendary designer, Paul Poiret.

Kate Moss wore a black dress from the TopShop collection, and Lady Tina (Sir Philip Green's wife) lent her some jewels for the occasion. Mary Kate Olson pulled off a black shaggy dress with clutch very nicely.
