The worlds fashion capital, were every six months all the trendy people in the industry happen to be here.......so........models, photographers, designers, contribute to make fashion one of the most glamourous fields to work in, so, why not........discuss it......share your points of view!

I am a newby model-15 years old-so I thought I could learn a lot from this forum! Would love to go to Milan, but will probably try the New York market here in the US for a while. Thanks for your input and advice!!

Question about Milan - what effect do the fashion weeks have upon the city?

Im new to this whole modeling thing, i have wanted to become a model ever since i was little. im a 19 yo mum to a beautiful daughter. thankfully having a child didn't ruin my figure if not i look better now than i did before.if any one has any ideas how a country mum can make it in the world of modeling please let me know any thoughts and ideas that may help.

but, for the under age, just make sure you travel with your mum, cos it's always better, you'll be hungin around with lots older people, and mum's can be helpful, you need to find yourself a mother agency, and they will send you out to gosees, and help you build up your portafolio!.......best of luck Emily ......You've got the looks!

Find yourself a great photographer and start building up your portafolio\book, I personally find this website very useful, www.http://www.modelresource.com/index.htm, when you think your ready, contact the agency near you, and try it, for a while, see what suits you the best, if you wanna do fashion shows\prints\commercials........Just follow your dream..........

We get, as you might already know, celebrities that have been invited by the designers, private events, dinners, huge parties all over the city, Milan becomes more international, its wonderful, its a good way to do some pr, and, you can also make some great acquantances!!!.......I just love it, its addicting!.............

Thank you !! My mom doesn't even leave me in the dressing room alone..:-). Very protective, but supportive! She wants me to wait a few years and model more when I am in college-I want to go to NYU or Yale--so I will be a little more experienced in "life" and have a better feel for the business. In the meantime, I love ELITE and am having fun doing more commercial stuff!

Thank you Emily, do what u think, during fashion week, I also happend to speak with a few mums, so I thought, it was kinda cool, years ago, Pat Cleveland, had told me referring to her at the time 15 yo daughter: she drags me everywhere just as if I was, her little puppy!!!........but soon after that, they both walked the catwalk together!.............Best, Lyn
