They already have the ad posters around Melbourne. I dunno about design houses being affiliated with tech gadgets. Maybe this is Prada's answer to the D&G/Motorola phone.

Much the same with me Allan. I'm going to try and get my hands on one, play around with it, and see how it works. The biggest detractor seems to be the lack of WiFi, though I'll be interested to see if Internet is provided by some other means.

And in more designer phone news, T-Mobile and a bunch of designers have teamed up to redesign a Sidekick mobile. The money from the sales of these one-offs will go to Fashion Targets Breast Cancer.

i'm really not sure about this whole "lets design a phone" thing...
can't designers be original? the cellphone has been done!

It shows a marked change in gadgets to being cool, and while I don't mind designer collaborations I don't like the idea of a normal phone simply being labelled with a brand name (think the D&G Razr). If they move away and create something altogether unique, then I'm all for it.

Prada phone looks the goods, but in terms of use I don't think it's worth it. The sidekick would be ok, but it's chunky and only useable on Telstra here atm.

I was using the Sony Ericsson W880i which I quickly got over it, and before that, I had the Motorola gold D&G .

I just got the Prada phone, about two weeks ago. I know it's nowhere near as fancy as the iphone, but I'm pretty happy with it. The main issue is that it's a bit annoying using the sms service, which I had figured that it would of been. As I already have a touch screen mp3 player for about a year, the whole touch screen phone wasn't a new feature to me. This phone feels like a toy and is very light indeed. The phone is pretty average, and I'm satisfied with that, as I tend to switch phones pretty often.

Overall, it's an ok phone, and given that it's LG, the battery life wasn't as bad as I would expect it to be. I've had LG phones in the past, and they tend to be pretty bad, in terms of battery life particularly.

God.. Its just an ugly looking phone.. with 'Prada' Printed on it..
The only reason its gonna cost sooo much more is because it has a brand.. I think thats silly.. if you like the phone good on you!! But dont like it just cos its prada!

Prada & LG are now reporting that they've now sold 700,000 Prada Phones.
