I agree with KiKi and Burnice..
I have had many jobs where i've worked with Nap MUA's and all the models always need touch ups bec the foundations are so bad from Nap!
The Nap brand is a JOKE and i would never buy it!
And such a rip-off as a makeup course.. They all come out like copies.. its sad!
The course kills their creativity!

Go check out the Makeup Academy :)
Its got great courses and work experience involved!
I've heard many good things about it!
The only problem is they use Gorgeous Cosmetics,
but that isn't anyway as bad as Nap!
See what you think.. go into a Gorgeous store.. :)
I would do the course then sell the kit! :)

i didnt even do a course, i started out when i was young getting my mums fashion magazines and copying the looks out on myself, then it just went from there. as long as you have a strong book you dont necessarily need to do a course. i guess it depends what you want to learn, effects and things like that are a good idea to do in a course, but I've been lucky working at Mecca Cosmetica we get a LOT of training from international make up artists

personally, I work with E.Funkhouser New York makeup. it's not available in stores, so u have to know someone who can get it, but it's a really high quality makeup with great colour versatility and range. excellent for photo shoots - the colours can go from tame to really out-there with a little more pressure or a touch of water on ur brush. As for a course, I never did one, just learnt from practice really.. and my EFNY kit came with a cool dvd and info folder. my advice would be to find a brand/range that you like, and that suites your needs, and learn how to best use that brand.

I have not been on here for a while so, I just noticed this and I couldn't just let it go, sorry!

Hahaha....I am one of those copies, I think what you posted is offensive actually. How can you say that "They all come out like copies.. its sad!" You can not just group everyone into one catergory. That is like saying all white people are racist, all muslim's are terrorists, etc, etc. It is stupid to think that way!

I agree with Bernice, Napoleon is considered a joke in this industry but, you do not alway's learn these things beforehand.

I do not agree with Sera, obviously. I am not a Napoleon Artist but, I am a Naploeon Diploma graduate, 2006. I consider myself a professional makeup artist, with talent and creativity. I know how to do my own thing. No-one has ever had to touch up my work and if they tried I might break their fingers ;) I still use some Napoleon products. I already knew how to do makeup before I did the course and I learnt things I wasn't aware of from the course.

All the best!
Danielle
