So, I bought these black and white Oxford-esque heels and I have a semi-formal dance coming up on Saturday. I need a dress. What color dress? Strapless? Help! Are tights appropriate? Any help is appreciated!!

I would suggest (and I could be wrong here) but a tight knee length black dress would be really good, Im thinking halter neck or strapless...

You could also wear bright colours because black/white matches with just about anything! Have fun at the dance :)

Ren's right, you could go colour, but I'd tend to think that sticking to black and white for the outfit would be a really cool effect with those shoes. One idea might be to do something with a bit of a tuxedo feel; like a white ruffle-front dress or something with a collar, give it that sexed-up menswear feel.

If you want to stick to more evening-ish maybe try working in some element of the sheer trend like a black dress with sheer overlay, or black lace.
