Pinafore dresses have been around for a while now, but have maintained their popularity thanks to brands like Topshop, Sixonesix and Paul & Joe. Pinafore dresses look great with black tights and boots, and even with a white tee underneith.



Maybe its the innocence given from the school dress inspired look that has drawn celebrities such as Ashlee Simpson, Molly Sims, Jessica Biel and Isla Fisher into following this trend. Be careful with this look, while Ashlee Simpson pulls it off as seen here, it doesn't always look great on everyone.

I think it can be quite cute, Ashlee Simpson does wear it well there :)

I love pinafore dresses, they are so cute! I have two which I wear from time to time. It makes me feel so girly.

i love pinafore dresses! i have quite a few because they are so good for work but you can still wear them casually! or with tights and a little sweater underneath if its cold! i think i have 6 or 7 of them :S

some of them are ok but i cant stand the majority!! i see everyone in ones like ashlee simpson is wearing in the above pic. they remind me of the art smocks i used to get in primary school. although i can see how versatile the can be. i probably just dont like them coz i know i couldnt pull it off!
