The Queen is always up to date;

THE Queen's televised Christmas message is being offered as a podcast for the first time.

Buckingham Palace today said the message would be available as a download from her website www.royal.gov.uk from 3pm UK time on Christams Day (2am AEDT December 26).

Listeners can subscribe in advance on the site to receive the broadcast automatically.

This year's broadcast, recorded at Southwark Cathedral, will focus on the relationship between different generations - what the young and old have to offer each other - and how faiths can nurture respect for the elderly.

It seems Queen Elizabeth II is trying to keep up with the times, and what better way than to go on YouTube?

Every year, Her Royal Highness, makes an annual Christmas broadcast to wish her subjects a happy holiday. The message was broadcast on television for the first time in 1957, and now, 50 years later, itll also be available on YouTube on the aptly named The Royal Channel. For those who want to have a listen on the go, you can also sign up to have it delivered to you as a podcast.

Her Majesty became the oldest living monarch in the United Kingdoms history this week, finally surpassing her own ancestor, Queen Victoria.
