The CDFA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) has announced that Ralph Lauren will take out the honour of 'Fashion Legend' - the award coinciding with the designer's 40th anniversary in the industry.

The 25th annual awards ceremony will recognise Lauren for his "vision and innovation." Oscar de la Renta, Proenza Schouler and Marc Jacobs are some of the big names up for the women's wear award.
