If you were a fan of Madonna in the 80s, or even better Tom Cruise in Risky Business, then you won't have let the Ray-Bans revival escape you. The classic 'Wayfarer' style sunglasses have again become a celebrity staple, with Sienna Miller, the Olsen Twins, Nicole Ritchie and others regularly stepping out in them.



Though remembered by many younger generations as an 80s icon, the Rayban Wayfarer has a much longer history. Since 1952, they've been immortalised by the likes of Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn, through to Bob Dylan, Andy Warhol and Madonna. Risky Business, with Tom Cruise, revived the dying brand in the 1980s.



Though I can appreciate their iconic-ness, I can't see myself buying them anytime soon. Are you wearing them?

I picked up some tortoiseshell ones at the beginning of the year and now I live in them as they're the only sunnies that suit my fringe! I've also just ordered a wayfarer-style white pair. So I'm quite a fan, yes....

Im not sure....remain undecided at this point....im still into the bigger sized sunnies that you can hide behind at the moment

hehe i jsut found an old pair of wayfarers I had from when I was a kid. Raybans and man, did they look bad. I would post a pic, but im scared of breaking the camera taking it. Call me last season but I still can't find anything that looks better than my prada aviators

It's actually Mischa that puts me off them - some people wear them ok, but she looks like a 12 year old from 1989.

Ha ha, I think Mischa looks like a 12-year-old a lot of the time... back to topic though, I'm swapping between my Wayfarer-inspired black with fluoro arms cheapies for fun days and my good oversized black ones for sophisticated (and hungover) days. Agree with Ren - great for hiding behind!

Very nearly went for the fold-up Wayfarers for my Pineapple Ju Ju character - they're HUGE!

but i love these....i would wear them they just dont suit me :( i love the uber old school coolness they have if you wear them the right way :)
