Red Head Fashion

Hiya! Just wanted to see what others think?

I've found that on shoots, people usually want me to wear red. I never wear red as being a redhead I always find it clashes and makes me look pasty.
As much as I protest, I do look nice in Green.

There aren't that many redheads that I would class as 'fashion Icons' so, what would you suggest?

*And no, dying the hair is not an option- the freckles are a dead giveaway!!*

Thanks!! xx

Seriously red hair is so cool, dont even consider changing it and what about Nicole Kidman? She is seriously one of the most stunning women alive....

Personally I think red hair and red clothing looks good because its so rare and it brings out the red even more....

Keely_Louise I think it depends on your colouring - true red, auburn, copper, strawberry blonde or light auburn hair? I agree that Green is very versatile and looks good on almost any redhead. Remember Marcia Cross in that beautiful deep emerald green dress at the 2005 Emmy awards? Who could forget? Divine!

Fiery redhead Lily Cole is often styled in red.

DO NOT DYE YOUR HAIR...It's purrdy! And red doesn't look that bad...go to a tanning place and get yourself a light fake tan. If you can find a Catch-A-Tan somewhere...it looks authentic...and there aren't any streaks if you do it the way they tell you.

Hi Keely_Louise, with your lovely warm hair colour you are best to wear only warm based colours (yellow-based) and stay away from cool colours. So with red, go for an orangey red, rather than a cool blue-red. Quite a few greens will look great on you, from emerald to apple to olive. Stay away from greys, and opt for browns instead. Slightly more muted colours will look better too than crisp sharp colours. Here are some colours which might give you a few ideas...

Thank you for all your lovely comments!
Thanks for those swatches too - I like the olivey greens and I usually tend to opt for the emerald greens if Im going out.
My hair is natural red, and is much brighter than in my pictures on here, these were taken over the winter, so by the end of the summer its usually really auburny/copper. I have the same colour hair as Marcia Cross generally. It's naturally very curly, and is usually really long, Ive recently cut it to my shoulders.
Thanks for all your messages- you've been a great help! x

Hi Keely-Louise. As a red-head I understand what you are saying. I avoid wearing red aswell as I feel it's just too much red. I find that white clothing with the red hair can look amazing but can be hard to pull off and painful to wear if there is any chance of getting dirty or having drinks spilled on you. Otherwise I tend to opt for blacks with deep green or red accessories. Also, deep greens seem to work. :-)
