You can always count on Romance Was Born to bring something a little different, a little kooky, and a little fun to fashion week. Wednesday night's parade at
MMSFW was no exception. Entitled 'Wierd Science', and aptly accompanied by footage from the 80s film of the same name, the collection was eclectic and creative.
Animal activists would be up-in-arms at the sight of a model draped in a fox-fur... but, though we can't condone the killing of foxes, this particular outfit was certainly visually striking and powerful. Other outfits were accessories by novelty eye-ball glasses, a backpack worn as a top, and brightly coloured printed leggings.
Romance Was Born did mix in a fair proportion of the wearable with the artistic this time around. From high-waisted jeans to the floaty printed dress shown below, there was certainly a greater emphasis on the sellable than in previous showings.
The parade ended with an entertaining set of mock marriages to the sounds of Guns and Roses' 'November Rain'. Check out the rest of the parade photos in the
Fashion Diary.
