I've just been offered a gig producing a runway show in Charleston.
It will be at a restaurant with two floors and I've pretty much figured out the logistics, etc. but I need to come up with a theme and price it so I can make the official proposal...

Sounds like a great opportunity. What themes have you thought of?

Is the show for a particular designer or store, or are you also selecting clothing for it? Sounds like great fun :D

I'll be selecting clothing from local boutiques. That is part of the reason for the theme, much of the clothing will be new but it won't be unseen. Shoe brands I have a selection of include all the big names like Prada, Dolce and Gabbban, Louboutin, Choo, etc and clothing ranges from brands found at Saks Fifth Avenue to Triko, Triple 5 Soul and Howe.

One of my model friends had an idea to do something varient from the Italian Vogue shoot that could be cool...I'm thinking 2 shows with interlocking themes.

Are you going to be able to film it for us? :D

That sounds like a great idea, you could have a line-up at the end ;)

I'm hoping to get it photographed and filmed.

Since it's at a restaurant can you tie it to a chefs special, like a Mexican theme with tacos for dinner while you watch the show, or an Italian theme with a bunch of lovely musicians with white shirts undone to belly buttons?? If you look at a way to make the business part of the event rather than just a venue I think you'll have a better chance with your pitch.

It's specifically an Italian restaurant but the theme does not need to be tied to the food.

It's actually now probably going to be all outfits made by local artists and students of recycled materials...a sort of "Recycled Runway" if you will.

We're hammering out the details now.
