My roommate has a pair of the American Apparel lames in gold...she gets compliments on them all the time. But the more they are handled or handwashed the less "metallic" they become, so now they are pretty tame.

I haven't seen many people wear metallic tights up here, but have seen them selling in stores. I like the red ones on the first page of this thread. I pulled off footless tights last year, but not sure if I am able to pull of metallic tights without drawing too much attention to me...

i think it's a given that attention will be drawn... i agree with you :) it's not an easy trend to pull off. i impulsively bought gold leggings only to realize it'll take some figuring out as to how to build an outfit around them. they're definitely going to be the focal point of my look :)

I have a fantastic pair of black, metallic/wet-look leggings that I have recently become infatuated with... I love finding things to wear them with!

I have two pairs in black.

I believe black is the *only* colour these should be worn in- unless your brave enough to pull it off, and you combine it with other colours- or matching coloured accessories to tie it in.

My first reaction to those purple leggings was *ewwww* and i think black are so much better then silver.

I combine it with a super-long guys shirt and long necklaces and accessories. You could also combine it with a short, simple dress but i like the shirt idea better.
I pressed 'edit' and my posts are stil there... how annoying, also, i had another tip- I would recommend not wearing them with undies- to avoid lines in the shiny fabric. and I like them better when they are pulled below the heel- footless and above the heel feels so tacky to me...
Hope that helps ;)

How about the black lace leggings? I'm not sure what to pair them with except my sky high YSL boots..

I don't actually wear lace legging myself so i haven't tried it out but lace goes well with staple dresses, you could also wear it with tunic dresses or dressed up with those YSL boots, like you already are... If they are footless they can be worn with sandles but I'm not sure I would like this look with lace, most types of closed in flat or heels should work well... unless they are too casual ;p
I do wear my black metallic leggings with converses, but I make sure I'm really dressed casually for this look and I don't think converses and lace would go well- lace is more dressed up.
I'd recommend high-heeled mary janes, high-heeled (lace-up?)booties... http://www.fashionising.com/trends/b--Footwear-boot-shoe-trends-A-W-20082009-1073.html
There's a variety of shoes that would go and my (probably) best suggestion would be to wear them like you'd wear fish nets... just don't go OTT.
