Skin Routine

What do you do in the morning and night to keep your skin glowing? for me i believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

i wake up (shower- with this funky shimmery purple soap that smells mmmmmmm) and do the clinque 3 step thing + some dior eye cream stuff. I only wear makeup when I'm going out (not to work- i get enough scary stalker types without it) and once a week or whenever I'm feeling oily I use a scrub. and sometimes a mud mask. and I drink a ton of water.
Mr Man doesnt the ice-pack fall if your doing crunches?
Oh and everything is 100% oil free (yes that means mineral+plant oils) because growing up i had severe acne (which was cured by roaccutaine- the most horrible medicine on the planet).
anything more complicated than that and i dont have time. and don't even get me started on "preparing my routine" I'm not a morning person and dont wake up properly till im at my desk with my huge mug of tea and checking my emails.

Ah ok Mr Man your routine kind of puts mine to shame... I'm currently using Estee Lauder skincare - Advanced Night Repair Protective Recovery Complex underneath some Future Perfect anti-wrinkle radiance creme, face and seperate one for eyes. I must confess I don't always remember to use it. I drink lots of water and always wash my makeup off. And... that's about it really.

That's a serious routine Mr Man!

I have 200+ products in my bathroom as we've been sampling a lot of skincare lines from ... well, all over the place. So, my routine changes depending on which products we've just got in. However, I'll generally use a good quality cleanser, astringent-toner and oil-free moisturiser daily. A really nice shave cream/gel and after shave whenever I shave and a really gentle scrub and clay mask every week or so.

then cleanse, tone and moisturise first thing in the morning and before you go to bed.
drink lots of water! it makes a difference

After getting out of bed I rinse my face with cold water then i go make my lunch & eat breakfast...then I cleanse with a gel cleanser in the shower...then apply two drops of vitamin C serum & two drops of seabuck thorn to face, neck & backs of hands...then sunscreen & then my foundation...in the evening I cleanse with a make-up remover when I get home then cleanse with my gel cleanser...then apply one of either lightning serum or another product which is a milky substance...can't think wot its called...i exfoliate once a fortnight... and I forgot about the eye gel...prevention is better than cure!
I also take fish oil tablets.
Oh & I drink my 1 cup of peppermint tea & 1 cup of green tea a day & plenty of water (which usually leaves me rather bloated).
