Spring/Summer 2010 Collections

Favorite collection? Mihara Yasuhiro's. Must have item that would make the biggest difference to my wardrobe? A body.

Pieces / ideas / styles I liked...

Rick's new jacket with a straighter edge

This trouser and boot combination at Costume National

Simple casual looks (Gianfranco, Mihara)

This double breasted jacket at Balenciaga

Always on the look out for light weight coats... (Prorsum, Prorsum, jil, YSL)

This Givenchy was a winner for me; sharp tailoring, crisp shirt, dope trousers - jury out on those sneakers

Similar to above with jersey drop crotch shorts / leggings - probably wouldn't back the print

A more relaxed variant on the above... Loved the coats, trousers/shorts/leggings, shoes. (Mihara)

Classic; very impressed with Dunhill!

Dunhill reminds me of some Lanvin's past collections.

to James Vincent: the first picture you posted is Versace right?

Hahah no ;) Alexandre Plokhov, founder of the defunct NY label Cloak, took over as the head of menswear a few seasons ago, so I keep my eye on the collections to see what he's doing. I thought the concept, presentation and execution of the pieces was good this season, but the style is a long way away from being relevent to me.

Desert / nomad trends were huge this season in both Milan and Paris, following on from Damir Doma's influential AW09 Paris showing.
