Shortly after the nascent Stephen Colbert '08 presidential campaign filed to run on the Democratic ballot in South Carolina's primary, the state party voted on Thursday to kick the colorful comedian out of the race. According to the Associated Press, party officials met for approximately 40 minutes and then voted 13-3 to remove Colbert from the ballot.

Really I'm sad to see him go.

You have to wonder how democratic it really is to not let someone run or go to the people.

They're scared he'll win(the primary, not the presidency), make them look like a joke.

They're just about to make Clinton President, what do they have to lose?

Was he also going after a Republican ticket?

I think so, haven't heard anything about that yet.
