Just want to put out a big farewell notice to a great Australian, Mr Steve Irwin A.K.A crocodile hunter.

His passing was one of the strangest pieces of news I've ever received. There was so much 'buzz' and so many rumours about it.

Very sad way to go, but he went doing what he loved at least.

I heard about it while at a Japanese restaurant from a pretty Asian girl sitting opposite who called him "Steven Irwin" so I was mystified and brushed it off. Then on coming home, smh had it plastered all over the front page. It's so surreal.

On this topic I would just like to say I am so very disappointed with Germaine Greer's completely uncalled for rant about Steve Irwin... very unprofessional... Did anyone hear it?!? OMG!

Go away Germaine Greer... we don't like you...

No matter what your opinions on Steve Irwin are I don't believe you should speak ill of the dead...

Greer sometimes has valid points, however, in this case she has proved that she shares the chip-on-the-shoulder, tall-poppy-syndrome that she clearly hates Australia for.

Steve Irwin was a true Aussie legend. I miss him, but he will always be remebered.

I loved his energy! he was awesome, what a shame... :(
