Stupid water vigilantes

As many will know Australia is in rather a water crisis at the moment. I happened to catch a thing on the radio this morning (I think Nova) where some guy said he was angry at his neighbour's garden watering, so in reponse he poisoned his neighbors hedge.

The station did a phone poll was this guy a loser or a legend, and marjority said LEGEND. Another lady said she had ripped out someone's tree because they were wasting water.

Is it just me or is there something seriously wrong with these people? When did we become water vigilantes? Of course people shouldn't waste water or go against the restrictions, but it's hardly the garden's fault.

Anyway, just thought it was most strange. Sorry for the rant!

Complete scumbags. Clearly they think they're justified. An extension of their logic - as their neighbour I note that they're leaving their lights on a lot, I'm justified to set fire to their electricity box yes? Actually that's false logic. They killed the tree in order to stop the watering. Thus I should burn down their house to stop the electricity waste :)

it defies logic, and is the most stupid way to protect the environment!

Crazy stuff!!
I would never of thought that far into it but thought they're tossers for resorting to such antics.
I know in Perth you are well within your rights to hand water your garden/s just as long as your sprinkle system is designated to 1 day of watering per week only...
When I walk in the mornings I always see government people fining those with their sprinkles on on their unrostered day/s...and know that there is justice out there!
Those sorts of stories result in an unfriendly neighbourhood...don't know about you guys but my neighbours would probably save my home if it were to be robbed or catch on fire! I try to stay on the good side of them & their gardens! ;-)

i jsut got back from cairns. its raining like crazy. their dams are overflowing so they are letting water out of them now. so here is my smart little solution- water pipelines people! i mean if townsville got SIX HUNDRED MILLIMETERES of rain and cairns rains for like 6 months in the wet season then maybe we should take advantage of that. oh and while we are at it maybe the government should upgrade the stupid leaky 80 year old water grid that looses so much water and crack down on businesses as well as telling people not to waste water. water vigalante's are just people with too little to do with their lives.

Governments need to look at their own departments, many of which are using more water now despite the sacrifices the public are making at home.

On Cairns, I believe the heavy rain up North is a key part of the Howard Governments water strategy, which will see incentives for people to farm further North as opposed to in the dryer South.

Sydney may have seen its first fatal case of water rage.

A 66-year-old man had been watering his front lawn, on Formosa Street in Sylvania, when another man, 36, who was walking past the house, challenged him about water restrictions.

The two argued and police said at one point the 66-year-old turned the hose on the other man, wetting him.

The 36-year-old attacked the older man, punching him, pushing him to the ground and then kicking him.

The attacker is a bright fellow:

A Sydney Water spokesman said if the time stated in the police report was correct, the deceased man was not violating Sydneys water restrictions.

That sort of self righteous arrogance is the pits. What takes more courage? Speaking to the neighbour or ripping out the plant behind their back? Grow some courage and try the harder option first.

Just don't kill them.
