Hey there,
TFCD is a great way to build up your modelling portfolio for free. You should ask the photographer for references from previous models they have worked with and/or companies they have photographed for. Look at examples of their work to see if you like their stuff. Make sure you discuss before the shoot exactly what sort of styles you are going for, so there are no surprises on the day. Often you will sign a model release form just to verify that the photos produced cannot be sold or used for purposes without your consent.
Any more questions feel free to contact me. Good luck with it all babe.. xx

I'd second everything that Cassandra has said.

It's also absolutely vital to get references for the photographer - nothing is more important than your safety. You can join an online model site such as NetModel or OzModel which will give you access to model only forums in which you can do photographer reference checks - these make sure that you broaden your check horizons so you are not merely relying on references that the photographer gives you (which can turn out to be fake).

If you are not 100% ask to be chaperoned at your shoot by someone you can trust. It's also a good idea to check with the photographer about chaperones as some photographers dislike chaperones.

If you feel uncomfortable about the shoot in any way, anything gives you any reason to be suspicious, just say no. There are a lot of weird people out there posing as photographers offering shoots on a TFCD basis and these people should definitely be avoided at all costs!

Otherwise it is a great experience and you will meet some great photographers and hopefully even get some paid work down the line from a TFCD shoot!

Watch out for cameras in the changerooms, there have been some pretty bad scams out there. I wouldn't recommend TFP or TFCD unless you or a friend actually knows the photographer.
If you do go for it, ask the photographer what style he would like the photographs to be in, whether hair and make up is getting done for you, if not, consider bringing a friend along with you to fix up any falling straps or out of place hair strands during the shoot.

I've done a mountain of TFP/CD shoots in my time and have never come across any problems. What the other girls here have suggested is all good advice! Research and references go a long way. A few other things to confirm before the shoot are things like make-up, hair and wardrobe (are they providing it or do you have to do it yourself?) and also what the theme of the shoot is. It is lingerie? Fashion? Are they expecting you to pose nude? Once those paramaters are set, don't deviate from them. If you've agreed to no nudity and they try to pressure you in to it, leave.

But besides the safety issue there is also a 'value' issue. Look at their work closely and determine if this is something that will improve your portfolio or keep it at the same level. TFP/CD shoots are supposed to be for the benefit of both the model and the photographer.

Also, ask the photographer to see the model release form prior to the shoot to give you an opportunity to read over it carefully. Many photographers dont bring out the release until after the shoot and spring some weird condition on you. Last thing you need after four hours of shooting is to find out you will only be getting five, non-edited pictures.

But lastly, have fun :) I always do.

I had a look at the website which LOOKS reasonably legit, although it is very simple to create a very legit looking website for a very illegitimate endeavour.

Am a bit concerned about the fact that the photographer seems to be based in Singapore?
