The Center Part: Is it back in?

I saw a small article in Cosmopolitan that read "The center part is back!" Is it true? What do you think? I have to be honest, I didn't look so great in 10th grade with a butt-crack going down my head. :P And if so, is there a certain way it's styled now so it doesn't look as geeky as it did a few years back? Love to hear your thoughts!

I think it looks amazing on Kim here, and my hair is a lot like hers as far as the curls go. Should I go for it?

I think it all depends on facial structure. The down the middle part also gives a really innocent look. If styled correctly, i think it can work.

Be careful with centre parts as if you don't have a super-symmetrical face it can emphasise the asymmetrical-nature of your face and make you look odd.

Done well, though, it can look great =]

I think it's more to do with the styling, and less to do with the part. If your style is dependent on texture and layering, then it doesn't matter (as much) where the part sits. Case in point: Rachel Bilson above. With her hair pulled away from her face, she looks terrible. But with a fringe and a centre part she can look great.

So does face shape matter? I have an oval shape to my face.

I think it depends on your features like for example, how wide is your forehead, jawline, etc. I think that if, for example, your nose is big maybe you should skip the center part.
Styling has a lot to do. You see, Jennifer Aniston, for example, usually wears a center part and it certainly looks better than Rachel's.

Ooh, yeah, I forgot to mention, fringes are the universal exception to the symmetry rule :P

It as actually Lauren Conrad's signature middle parted hair that inspired me to consider parting my hair in the middle a few months ago. I did it for one day and I didn't look good, though years ago during high school it looked innocent school girl.

I think parted hair in the middle tends to look good on school girls, and on some older girls, it does depend on the face, but also the style of hair and clothing style.

Here, on Rachel, it's stick straight and looks really good, I think.

Then here, it has a lot more volume and life to it and still looks amazing.

Personally, I think she looks best with a slightly off-center part.

With volume it's fine, dead straight I think it makes her look like she has a five-finger forehead.
