Yeah...true to that! Martin Durkin had a rather discreet side dig during the interview with Tony...bit tongue in cheek i thought...which ultimately shows Martin's character!
But yeah, if u can get ur hands on it dpd its worth a watch.

Yeah I definitely will. Being heavily science based, I doubt it'll sway my opinion either way. I personally believe there is a mixture of truth and hoo-ha to everything that is being said right now.

Certainly, the weather has been crazy of late (but I'm judging that on 24 years of experiencing it, and less of actually remembering it) and I'm yet to see anything which conclusively says that 1) the world is heating up and that 2) it's not a natural cycle.

Having read history at university and approaching it from a historical standpoint, evidence exists which can be interpreted as suggesting that at the turn of the first millennium temperatures were equally as warm (if not warmer) than the present day. Of course, we didn't have technology back then to accurately gauge this, nor did we have it to contribute to green house gas emissions.

Yeah I too agree that there is a lot to debate about the situation!! But hey...where's the harm in teaching everyone to be a lil more considerate of our future?
If not for us but for our generations to come!
Where's the love?? Huh...Marty Durks...where is the lovin??

Definitely agree. If we can minimalise on our output, irrespective of whether we're doing damage or not, it can only be a good thing.

We're more likely to see an increase in output anyway even if we decrease the developing countries which will be going through their own "industrial" revolution will be pushing out more then we could ever compensate for.

Having said that, this is not an excuse to do nothing.

I'm reading a lot about Australian moving into a period of La Niña (as opposed to El Nino)? Does anyone know anything about this, particularly why the Spanish are getting all the street cred?

What material are you reading daniel? It sounds quite interesting! And not knowing much about the subject it'd be good to educate myself a little more!

Also, is it just media hype or has QLD been immediately affected by this lately?

I can't recall the sources now I'm afraid SoHo. But it certainly seems to be the case that if you read up on current climate issues, they seem to be the inverse of last year. Down the Eastern side of Australia we've had a lot more rain. Venice is no longer flooded, in fact the canals were completely devoid of water this week.

North QLD has floods practically every year though...I can recall this happening way back when I was a child.
