PRETTY-BOY MODEL IN ROB-SPREE BUST

From catwalk to perp walk.

A pretty-boy Hugo Boss model -- who made headlines last year for being the boy toy of a 37-year-old teacher -- was charged yesterday with taking part in holdup ring that robbed 15 gas stations and delis in the last month.

Joshua Walter, 20, of Queens and three others were busted early yesterday for the string of brazen robberies -- and they confessed, sources said.

Cops said the thug band would go armed to grab cash out of registers. Then, they would also rob everybody in the place.

The quartet got $800 to $1,000 at each of their jobs for a total take of $12,000 to $15,000.

The spree began June 14 and ended on Sunday at a Dunkin' Donuts on Horace Harding Expressway, where Walter allegedly pistol-whipped one of the victims, sources said.

In addition to gas stations, Walter and his pals hit 7-11 stores, bodegas and fruit and vegetable markets in Rego Park, Jackson Heights, Forest Hills, and Jamaica, Queens, and in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, the sources said.

The suspects were busted at 1:30 a.m. yesterday when cops assigned to the Queens North auto larceny squad stopped a Chevy Astro van with four men inside on 30th Avenue near 31st Street in Astoria.

One of the men ran out of the van but he was caught after a short foot chase, cops said.

The four were taken to the Queens robbery squad, where lineups were held, the suspects allegedly confessed and they were arrested.

They were charged with robbery and criminal possession of a firearm.

In addition to Walter, the other three members of the gang were identified as Lamont Adams, 33, and Willie Winston, 30, of Queens and James Young, 29, of Brooklyn.

Walter, taking advantage of his slim, sullen look, has modeled in Milan, Paris and the Big Apple.

He shares a home with Gina Salamino, 37, a former second-grade teacher who lost her job at PS 121 in Jamaica after their relationship was discovered.

Gina and Josh first met when he was only 12.

They renewed their acquaintance at a family party on Aug. 6, 2007, and said they first hooked up during the 2006-2007 school year -- when Walter was 17.

In a bid to reclaim her job, Salamino contended there was nothing wrong with her liaisons because Walter wasn't her student, and at 17, wasn't a minor.

While that's true in terms of criminal law, city education law considers anyone under the age of 18 a minor, a Manhattan Supreme Court judge ruled.

When Department of Education investigators questioned Walter about Salamino, he said, "I'm tapping that ass and there's nothing you can do about it."

He said he considered the older woman "my shorty."

Stilettos + Strippers = Danger.

Exotic dancer gets probation in stiletto stabbing

AKRON, Ohio (AP) -- A woman has been sentenced to a year of probation for attacking a fellow exotic dancer in the face with a stiletto heel at an Ohio club.

In a deal with prosecutors, 22-year-old Chetania Davis pleaded guilty Tuesday in Akron to a misdemeanor assault charge.

Prosecutors say Davis used the heel to stab her 52-year-old co-worker several times April 17 in the club dressing room, causing wounds that required seven staples. It was the older woman's first day on the job.

Police had said she was attacked because Davis didn't think the club needed more dancers.

Defense attorney Tom DiCaudo maintains Davis was defending herself during a fight. He says she took the plea to move on with her life.

The judge also suspended a six-month jail sentence.

@OP:

The sooner Germany embraces free speech, the better.

What do we really gain by trying to forget the history of the Nazis? At best the comfort to some who have tender sensibilities. At worst, another holocaust?

The OP example is a textbook expansion of one restriction of expression now infringing on increasingly tangential areas of public life. And it sets a bad precedent when it does so.

In many ways, the measures countries will go to in order to disavow right-wing extremism ultimately are just as draconian in their principle, if not in their scope. I'm always ranting about the stupidity of tolerating intolerance. But really, being intolerant of intolerance to the extent of legislation? Probably not wise either.

Let us be reminded what these fashion brands really are: the commercialization of, in this case, a subculture. Nothing could do more to dilute the identity and expression of skinheads than their fashion trends spilling over into the tastes of the masses. Once a thing has been popularized, it is ideologically and symbolically dead, or at least so superficial as to be a mere shadow of its former significance. There's just not much of a demographic for fascist propaganda to really be effective.

What we should really be condemning is the ideas of right-wing extremism and not, of all things, how said extremists dress. Priorities.

The trademark suit sported by North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il is now in fashion worldwide thanks to his greatness, Pyongyang's official website said Wednesday.

Uriminzokkiri, quoting an article in communist party newspaper Rodong Sinmun, said the modest-looking suits have gripped people's imagination and become a global vogue.

"The reason is that the august image of the Great General, who is always wearing the modest suit while working, leaves a deep impression on people's mind in the world," it said.

"To sum it up, that is because his image as a great man is so outstanding."

The article quoted an unidentified French fashion expert as saying world fashion follows Kim Jong-Il's style.

"Kim Jong-Il mode which is now spreading expeditiously worldwide is something unprecedented in the world's history," the stylist was quoted as saying.

The suits consist of an overall-style zipped-up tunic and matching trousers, usually in khaki or blueish-grey.

The 68-year-old leader wears them even when receiving foreign dignitaries.

During his outside "field guidance" trips in winter, he also dons a shapeless anorak and fur hat.

Kim and his deceased father Kim Il-Sung are at the heart of a personality cult that borders on religion, with near-magical powers ascribed to the younger Kim.

Rainbows supposedly appeared over sacred Mount Paekdu where Kim Jong-Il was allegedly born, and he is said once to have scored 11 holes-in-one in a single round of golf.
