The Wardrobe Thread
Ok so after an intensive weekend of spring cleaning I thought it'd be cool to do a wardrobe thread maybe even before/after pics? hopefully we all spring clean once in a while.. i know this is the first i've done this year hence the 4 garbage bags sitting in my garage. haha.
unfortunately (perhaps fortunately) i didnt take before pics but lets just say..the utter plethora of horrible trackies, baggy pants/jeans, the fluoro we once thought was cool..how about flare pants? glad to wave them all goodbye. so out with the old and in with the new (with a touch of designer too!) also threw out an array of hangers, of the wire, plastic, bent and chipped variety. replaced with an entire new set of wooden ones. (actually i had to remove a lot of my mum's clothes, her wardrobe extends beyond hers and both my sisters to even mine. i had to gradually sneak some awful fur coats back into her wardrobe progressively over a week. hahaha).
I guess i decided on being a bit minimalist. i'd wear eveything here at least once per season, anything that hadn't been worn for over a year would be out. the only difficult thing was shoes since i dont have a shoe rack. half go in boxes if i wear them less often and the rest go on top and the rest go in the shoe closet.
and as for the random 'memorabilia' that we all can't bear to part with, what do we do with them? all the birthday cards, signed tshirts and signature bears, I think i just put as much as would fit in 2 shoeboxes, the bigger stuff in plastic bags and shoved them right up the very very top of my wardrobe out of sight away from dust (maybe one day i'll rediscover it and be overwhelmed by a wave of sentiments?haha) There's really a lot of stuff i could part with though. its funny how much stuff there is to cringe at.
