God that's disgusting. I know someone who not only wears them with pride but also gets croc bling to decorate them. Foul.

Ah it gets worse. In an attempt to be cool Croc have gone and copied the Apple ads.

God knows what they were thinking when they cast those two. Yes, I'd feel so much more attractive in Crocs now.

crocs to unveil plastic clothes

Crocs the colourful footwear company, whose rubber clogs have been such a popular hit, have now decided to capitalise on their popularity, with the announcement they're to launch plastic-inspired clothing. Fans of the spongy foam resin will now be able to buy shirts, shorts and skirts, âWeâve been able to take the same material and spin it into yarn so it has all the properties of the shoes âlight, durable and breathable.â A spokesperson explained.

The company exploded onto the market in 2004 and have since enjoyed continued success, with a recent report by stockbroker Piper Jaffray predicting that Crocs sales would rise from $354m (£178m) in 2006 to $820m this year. The manufacturer is also launching a range of T-shirts, menâs work shirts and childrenswear, which will reach British shops next year. Womenswear will follow in 2008, a spokeswoman said.

âMenâs and childrenâs clothes are a bit less complicated. Waiting until 2008 allows us to take over our womenâs fashion range.â

Crocs will open five outlets including a flagship boutique in Londonâs Covent Garden.

Crocs are dangerous.

Crocs, not unlike Uggs before them, are prime candidates for footware we'd just as well have everyone put back in the closet, especially now that the Japanese National Institute of Technology and Evaluation has apparently issued a public warning regarding the safety of wearing the offensively ugly plastic shoes on escalators. Supposedly some forty people in Japan have been injured wearing the shoes on escalators, including a five year old girl who is said to have lost lost three toenails and suffered a broken toe when her ugly ass shoes got caught in the escalator. Please, Crocs, think of the children -- and everyone else's greater sense of aesthetics.
