I have a fair few pet hates bubbling inside me at any one time...
- when people use 'net speak' in everyday language -
e.g.: lyk, omg, wtf? i cbf atm. brb... I actually heard this conversation once... this is pretty much a transcript of the conversation...
- when people say
"lol" just because they can't think of anything else to say - I'm pretty sure if people were really laughing out loud every single time they wrote that, they would haemorrhage from the diaphragm...
- obviously incorrect spelling or grammar - I'm not against anyone who can't spell or doesn't know every grammatical rule (typos are a part of life), but I will correct it if I hear / see it if I know the person well enough that they won't get too miffed.
- prejudice or intolerance; far be it for anyone to attempt to dictate the way another person lives - it's their choice. By the same token, I also dislike minority groups attempting to manipulate the majority to their way of life, and claiming discrimination if the majority does not comply. People should just live the way they want to live and be happy about it.
- when people say
"like" or
"y'know" after every other word.
- when people speak with an upward inflection at the end of each sentence so everything sounds like a question.
- when party A says
"I love you" to party B in an attempt to convince party B to have sex with party A.
- when people put themselves down as an attempt get compliments.
- when people make unjustified assumptions about another person
e.g.: she's pretty, she must be dumb; he likes to dress well, he must be gay.
- backstabbing in general.
- when people displace their anger/frustration/other negative emotions onto other people in an attempt to make themselves feel better, thereby making the other person feel bad.
- when a person's choice is taken away from them.
...
I think that's enough ranting for now! ... I think ... If I think of anything else, rest assured I will be back...!
