oh, im not a real Australian either. apparently nobody is unless they are (and i hate to say this but its so true) white. the conversation goes like this "where are you from?" "here?" "but where were you born??" "ohhhhh right, well i've lived here since i was 3, but i was born in ireland" "what? oh ok. where are your parents from?" "south africa" "but but but, you're brown" "yeah no shit." and then it goes "you look indian" "perhaps thats because around 7 generations ago some of my ancestors came from there?" "ohhhhhhhhhhhh you're indian" "wait, what? 6 or 7 generations is 130 - 150 years, you're ancestors were coming in a boat from where i came from- ireland! so that makes you irish?" "but you dont look australian or irish or south african"
