Trying to gain experience

Hello I am going to be an incoming freshman college in the fall in Atlanta, GA and I wanted to know how I would be able to build experience in the fashion industry, such as styling?

In this economic climate you're best of creating the experience; network, get people together, and come up with TFP projects that gives everyone experience and a great portfolio.
