Okay, so I've encountered a bit of an education dilemma of mine. I dislike my school with a passion and I want to move, but I've already started Yr. 11 and am a quarter of a way through the 2yr course of VCE. I just found out that you can actually start/finish VCE in RMIT and since I desperately need ( or want ) a new environment to study at, I'm contemplating on moving there. But I'm not sure if it's a wise decision. I just need a few opinions on the situation.. please? :S
i hated highschool and therefore, hardly went to class and mucked around a bit, then paid to go to a private uni for a year so i could get into regular uni and do a degree. I guess it depends on what you wanna do and whats important to you COOP!. RMIT will give you more flexibility but you will have to be much much more self motivated- nobody to hold your hand and push you like in school. But if you're grades are important and your hating school then it might be a good idea- if you are sure you can motivate yourself. If you wanna go to uni, find out which one would give you a better shot. The change of environment may do you good- but you will be with older people who will be working pretty hard to finish.
Yeah, I thought about those things. And I've found that I actually work a lot better around older people because it gives me motivation to be 'better' than them haha gosh that sounds so mean, but yeah. *is excited* thanks for your thoughts ruru :D I've decided I will actually follow it through, and I always love a change of environment so it'll be good!
I changed schools about 7 times and it worked out fine for me (got two degrees etc.) but that was because my parents were moving around, but in any case im sure if you go by your gut feeling it will work out for the best! Good luck x
I really hope I get in lol. My school really makes me lose motivation in almost everything *sigh* RMIT would be awesome, in my opinion. I like being surrounded by new people * is excited * and the whole moving schools and making new friends thing isn't such a problem for me, I used to move around a lot when I was younger so I got used to it lol. thanks for your thoughts guys! xo
i went to a ton of highschools too but i found when i was in uni- i worked better and harder because i liked the environment better. hope it works out for ya :)
