'Vintage' or Second Hand!

I quite enjoy shopping in Sydney at Crown St & Gould St Bondi for second hand bits & pieces that I call 'vintage'! I haven't purchased clothing that is second hand in over a year now but I do like the accessories in 'vintage' concept stores. I find that the accessories are easier to call my own. I don't adopt second hand clothes very well though, well not anymore.

I can't reason this. Maybe it's the smell or maybe it's the display for the clothes are always poorly merchandised. I've also observed that over the 3 years the prices have been bumped up considerably, well in Sydney anyway.

Anyone else a fan of 'vintage'?

I like mixing vintage clothes in with new ones... you can just fine some great things, unique pieces, that you can't find anywhere else. Prices in Melbourne have gone up a lot too with the major second-hand / charity stores but you can still find smaller ones around that have great prices.

Hmmm, don't know that I have any 'regulars' but I can name a few off the top of my head that I like.

Chapel St Bazaar, and some of the smaller op-shops / vintage stores down Chapel.
There are a few really sweet little charity second hand stores in Caulfield but I can't think of which street... Glen Huntly Rd maybe?
For little bits of antique jewellery and vintage bits and pieces my fav is a store in the Dandenongs... again though, I know how to get to it but I'm not sure what it's called or the exact location!! You keep going past Olinda and it's up there. (pretty vague, sorry!) It's full of cute little antiques. Also around the goldfields area (Bendigo etc) there are tons of cute antique stores where you can find old jewellery and accessories etc.

I think probably 50% of my wardrobe is vintage/from op shops! I love getting plenty of my high waisted shorts, skirts && dresses from there, && of course accessories, and mixing them all the time with my more expensive labels. Its lighter on the hip pocket and easier to call the unique pieces && style "your own"! :)))))))))))))))

my wardrobe vairies... i have alot of really cheap peices from random stores around the place that i team with expensive items and always get comments on. All of my belts are vintage, and a majority of the accessories are from overseas... so not vintage as such but def not mainstream... i am definitly not mainstream though!
