Am getting back into reading fiction, after reading business / motivational books for so long. Just finished reading The Great Gatsby and am now reading Flow, My Tears, The Policeman Said by Phillip K Dick.

The End of Fashion sounds really good - care to tell us more about it?
The End of Fashion refers to the rise of marketing, branding and posting yearly profits for shareholders, while haute couture houses in France suffered at the hands of fast-adapting US businesses and the end of the 80s economic boom.

It talks about casual becoming the new business dress, cheap becoming chic and the moves made by brands like Ralph Lauren.

The book is a little old now, and its interesting to see a rise of niche fashion, in favour of the ubiquitous brands and a new appreciation for dressing up that was birthed out of the 'casual Friday' syndrome.

I loved it - it was captivating and interesting and tragic. I'm looking forward to reading more of Fitzgerald.

I've just finished reading Remembrance Day by Henry Porter. Quite a good thriller, set in this post-Cold War, terrorist threatened society we now live in.

I've now started on a second novel by Porter, Spy's Life.

Well dpd I find it funny how everyone is so concerned about when the mining boom is going to end...and how they all think it will exist for X amount of time...when it is the rehabilitation that needs to be focused on!
F-ing Greed!!!!

The shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon

Great book just a sampling:

"I partially credit my one way ticket into this world due to the charms of this cafe"

I've just finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and had read the Half-Blood Prince before that.
