Just wondering what people are using out there, I noticed a lot more Nikon rigs out there this Sydney Fashion Week and thought I'd see how everyone feels.
For myself I run a Nikon rig, D200 with a Nikkor 80-200 f/2.8 and a Tokina AT-X Pro 28-80 f/2.8. The Nikon is a beautiful bit of kit rugged easy to use and the controls are always right where you need them, the nikkor lense is crisp as. The Tokina on the other hand isn't bad but gets progressively softer below f/5.6 so I don't really get the value out of having an f/2.8 lens, time to get rid of it me thinks and get a new nikkor version.

D2x with a range of lenses (the new sigmas are good) D70 as backup and my old fuji S2 for sentimental reasons (and colour quality)

I'm using a canon rig. I went from a D2Xs to a 5D with a couple of lenses. It does the job for me now but damn I miss Nikon's ergonomics and ruggedness! I still kept the SB800 during the switch and have it now as a slave flash unit.

I'm currently shooting with a Canon 30D and a 28-135 lens, but am going to be upgrading within the next couple weeks to either the 5D, or (hopefully) the 1Ds Mk II. I'll also be picking up the 24-105 L lens and the 430EX portable flash.
Currently using an Aurora Genesis strobe setup, and hoping to grab some HMI lights in the near future.

Taking photos for our event coverage (professional huh :P) I'm using a Canon 350D, I have the two kit lenses. So nothing too swish there. I've also added invested in the Canon 430 flash.

I have a Fuji Finepix digital. It was top of the line but it is getting old now and I am seriously considering upgrading to the Canon 400D (aka the Rebel in the usa). It has been a long time since I had an SLR and my first SLR digital. I feel like a total beginner when it comes to lenses etc!

Did have a Konica Minolta Dynax 5D but I dropped it so now it doesn't work anymore. :P
Now use a Canon 400D with a Speedlite 580EX flash and a Sigma 18-200mm lens.
Saving up for 5D but might wait a few more months and get the 1D Mk III - sexeh!!! (Will have to upgrade to at least 2 lenses though).

Used to be film (Minolta, until someone nicked it) and have now converted to digital. And am I ever glad I did. Imagine the printing costs of the 10,000+ images I've taken since switching under two years ago.
At the moment I'm using Canon 350D with EX430 flash and my favourite 'toy', 70-200 f/2.8L. Might look at purchasing a 24-70 L when I head to North America for a few weeks later next month...

Cool, looks like the 24-70 and 70-200 ranges are the most common, I'm just looking at a 17-55-f/2.8 a 105 macro and a new 28-70-f/2.8. Though the $5k price tag on the 3 is holding me beck presently.

Dave, why not go for the 17-35 f2.8 and 28-70 f2.8? Personally I think the 17-35 is a much better lens than the 17-55. Another option is to go the old school f2.8 trilogy - 20-35, 35-70, 80-200. Those lenses were built like a tank and made to last.
For the 105 macro on a cropped sensor might prove to be too tight in some situations. I think Nikon have a 60mm macro as well which quite a fair number of people use for a nice portrait lens. Then again, you can't beat the 85 1.4 except maybe the Canon 85 1.2.
