Some people collect stamps. Some collect comic books. I've also found it's quite easy to become a 'collector' of something, without necessarily setting out to be one...

What do you collect? I'm particularly curious as to whether people collect fashion items, though it could really be anything.

Personally I've managed to bank up a collection of vintage gloves... I also collect antiques, particularly antique jewellery. :)

I don't actively collect anything, but looking over my things I have quite a lot of watches and cuff links.

Wow Mahima where do you find the room to keep them all?? :D

Do any of you have any photos of your collections of things? I think it would be interesting... I'll photograph my glove collection later :D

I collect tacky snowglobes. Whenever I have a friend go overseas I get them to buy me a globe. The rule is it has to be the most disgusting horrible thing they can find.

I have some fabulous ones.

My favourite is one a chum got me from Batemans Bay (not very international, I know) and instead of being made from glass or plastic it is made from this clear rubber, sort of like a water balloon, and it has the two dumbest looking fish I have ever seen inside. Think Dory from Finding Nemo. I keep it on my desk at work and bounce it all over when I am hold on the phone to amuse myself.

Something else I collect: photographs of demolished buildings in Melbourne. All of them are from the cities hey-dey or slightly later. None are post war, as we've only built rubbish since then IMO.

For instance, the Federal Coffee Palace was demolished in the 60s, only to be replaced by some brick / concrete crap which has itself now been demolished.

And then there were the Fish Markets, which were demolished in the 60s again. After demolishing it they (more-or-less) couldn't find anything to do with the site so it became a car park. Some glass crap will go up next year apparently.

shoes! I buy heaps but find it very hard to get rid of them. My mom had the same problem so I have a ton of gorgeous vintage shoes- tho recently we did a bit of a clean up. I have a cupboard for them but its a little bit overflowing, so more in my wardrobe and my sisters room. Last count was 130 pairs.
