What is/ are brothel creepers?

Might be being a little naive here but I've just been given a discription that psychobilly is the new rockabilly and 'Brothel Creepers' was listed alongside quiffs and tatts as a describing feature. Any Rockers out there that can tell me? Wondering if it's actually a piece of clothing like braces for jeans or if it's someone who creeps around brothels in which case that's just wrong, and not just limited to people who draw inspiration from the 50's.

Well I've met a few... Nah. Brothel Creepers are a UK teddy boy's shoe style from the '50s. I take it you've seen the term in a styling description?
