What exactly is ...'business casual?' which part of me should be business an which casual?
i had an interview which called for it today, ended up going for a mix with a crisp white business shirt and black tie, a nice blue cord jacket, black jeans and nice formal shoes.
ive heard alot of interpretations.. id love to know peoples opinions?
Dress codes are such a mess these days. Who honestly knows what formal is in this day and age? I've read many an invite that reads 'black tie / formal' but black tie isn't formal, it's actually semi-formal!
Onto business casual, to me that's a pair of trousers, with a cohesively matching shirt, tie, and shoes combination. Dress down the shoes by going for a brogue (leather soled preferably, though a rubber sole is the feel of the office is quite casual). Top it off with a sports coat.
It was with a certain crunchy computer company, and i was thinking of throwing sneakers in the mix. they like young and funky. it looked great on but i couldn't bare to jump in a lift with well dressed business men, sporting the tatted canvas.
