What's your favorite decade?

If you could wear only the style of clothing from one decade, which decade would you choose?

The 30s please.
Chanel had already freed women from the darn corset...Vionnet's bias cut slinky gowns...Elsa Shchiaparelli's surreal twists...affordable synthetic fabrics for everyone...Garbo...Josephhine Baker...Katherine Hepburn in pants!...Dietrich in a Tux!...Cecil Beaton...etc it was such a glamourous and exciting time.
But then came the damn War...

I love the Renaissance. Pompous dresses, magnificent powders, wonderful manners, heavenly shoes, divine balls. What a lovely decade to live in.

But I really love here and now too. :)all those different kind of bags, millions of shoes. always changing trends. i love that :)

This will sound like a bit of a cop out, but the 00's.
It gives me the chance to look back on other decades, select what worked, what looked good and then build my wardrobe and looks based on that.

10,000 BC
I've always wanted to run around half naked wearing nothing but leaves and leather. And the fashion designers back then must have been superb tailors since they have only manual tools. With people hunting their own food or needing to run for their lives away from dinosaurs all the time, their sportswear would have been amazing! =P

But seriously, 1920s is my fave.
For a guy there's nothing better than the classic suit.

Late Victorian Era. Fantastic tailoring, amazing architecture, and the world as a blank canvas.

1920s because I would love to be rebellious in "short" skirts, a black bob, red lipstick and all that jazz (pardon the pun :P)

That said, this decade means we can wear anything from any decade and there not be any major issue of decency or propriety :P Haha, love it.

Definetly the 20s, for sure! All that rebellion, cutting your hair short and wearing sexy flappers and 'outrageous' (lol) make-up! How exciting to be so different and fresh!
hmm, much like today where you can be anything you want to be and from any decade! oh the freedom!

I would have to say that I have two favorite decades, and they sound totally opposite, but it's true!!
The 50's and the late 60's/early 70's.
The 50's, because I love the big skirts and fitted bodices. It was a time of home cooking, and raising children. I love the simplicity and beauty of it.

The "hippie era" because of the beautiful patterns, flowy clothes, and easy breasy hair and makeup. Everything was about beauty and love! What could be better than that?

Well, probably I'd chose the style of the French court of Versailles under Louis XIV ^^
