i think that only searching the internet before you shop can be a negative experience as you can loose some perspective gained from 'real life' browsing. The internet is important for figuring out what is going to be in and finding a cutting-edge style, but I also like art and so i guess art influences me in my search for fashion, browsing shops and accessing other people's outfits also helps create an awareness of how things fit together that might not be gained from the internet and this interest in outfits and appearances doesn't have to be confined to the young, famous or wealthy.
I hate buying fashion magazines for one thing- by the time fashion makes it to the mainstream realm of fashion magazines it should have reached the peak of it's lifecycle and I have to figure out a new way to wear it- in general fashion works in circles- often lovely, little high-end boutique shops will give away free fashion magazine, which often reinstates what fashion trends I've been pondering are actually viable.
