Majorly poor loss for Australia tonight, the ref should be shot on moral grounds at least. To have the match hold out for that long, and then award an (easy) penalty in the last 2 seconds is simply morally corrupt.

Especially considering the Australia vs Croatia goal was not counted because it was on the whistle...

The Ukraine lost bad - 3 goals nill!?! That's a major loss, shows Australia would have had a good chance against them.

Shame about the end of the German v Argentina match though. Not because of the German win, but because of the violence (seemingly) caused by Argentina afterwards. Unsporting.

So England is out of the Cup, a real shame because they certainly played the better game against Portugal.

It's really such a shame that a World Cup starts off promoting social issues such as racism, but can't even get it's own house in order. Why aren't more players yellow-carded for purposely diving and thus holding up play? It's a rediculous situation, and one Portugal certainly likes to take advantage of. It's disgraceful that their national team uses carding as a tactic instead of just playing the game. Ronaldo's running to the ref. after some fool placed himself under Rooney's foot, then subsequently winking to the bench after the red card was shown highlights the problems out there.

Mind you, what kind of behaviour can we expect from a guy who balls his eyes out everytime Portugal gets kicked out of competitions?

Yeah, most upset England are now out too. Seems to be far too many bad ref decisions this world cup :( No Australia, no England... ah well.

I was at Soho House last night watching the France v Portugal game and I have never seen so many English people support France (never thought it would happen, did you?). When France beat Portugal everyone cheered, and when the BBC cut to Ronaldo walking off the field crying everyone suddenly pointed at the screen and cheered twice as loud. He's hated here, and should really hope he doesn't return to Man. United later this year.
