It may be very cold right now, but I'm in summery floaty dress mode thinking about holidays. Any thoughts on the following..?

Shakuhachi pinafore dress

Gorman merry-go-round dress - I like the pattern, it's cutesy but I like it...

Sumahki Sweetheart Strapless Dress...

Yay or nay to any of these? Any cute summery dresses you know of around? :)

I like how we can put photos in posts. And because everyone is intelligent enough to not put huge pictures in their signatures, I have a feeling I'm going to like it more. :P

I like both the Shak and the Gorman, but aren't both totally sold out on mycatwalk? The Shak is cute and pretty well priced too. I was tossing up between the blue and the black and then they sold out. D'oh.

I love the Karen Walker belted sundress on Ozdesigner. I was contemplating it during the 48hour sale but still pretty pricey for cotton. :(

Sold out?? D'oh!! I always get carried away before I actually check the sizing and availability. :P
The Karen Walker one is really cute, like you say though the price is quite high for cotton.

I'm hoping to find some cute dresses overseas... perhaps I should wait and see what I can bring back?? :D

Daniel, don't you need to comment on the dresses? :P

Tania, actually I think Sewn is doing some gorgeous dresses this coming summer. I'll post a pic from their catalogue in a little bit. They're recutting the famous Beattie Bow dress in a poplin which will be gorgeous, and they also have this gorgeous spag strap silkcotton slip dress too that I'm dying for, in red, but it's a wee bit expensive. :(

Are you going overseas in summer? If so, might be better to look there, but I love our Australian designers so much. :/

Nah, not at this stage - I just don't think they'd suit me. A kilt on the otherhand...

Kilts are very breezy I hear.

Anyway, I have accidentally bought this (d'oh)

Karen Walker brown cotton dress with scalloped neckline and black silk bow

which should work well for summer and winter both methinks?

The Myer sales are meant to be tremendously good atm on KW dresses. Bar that, I buy everything on ebay, and American designers are always great to avoid the ridiculously crazy prices Aust. designers mark up their dresses to these days (since when was $600 an acceptable starting point for a dress?!).

(ETA - why did I think a neckline was a hemline!?)

I love Sewn's stuff... they signed up and posted some pics, but haven't filled in their profile yet! There are some gorgous dresses there.

Lol. It's gorgeous! I think I'd "accidentally" buy it as well! ;)

I've met one of the Sewn designers and she is really really absolutely so lovely. She's so devoted to the label and also one of the sweetest and most genuine people that I've ever met. She actually gave me a huge support boost when I was first touting JYJewels around the fields. =D Which all makes me love their pieces even more =P

Myer's huge stocktake starts tomorrow if you want to try get your hands on more summer dresses. I am going to stay very very away from the sales. I make enough online boo boos with shopping as it is. :(
