Your favourite designer and WHY

I think it'd be a good change to start talking about designers and get to the real intelligence of fashion instead of just the whole "who's wearing who"

I think for me it's pretty much Galliano, simply for his (usually) incredibly detailed and amazing looking Couture.

I've loved him (though not like that) since I saw his Fall 2006 Couture show for Dior, I think it was one of the first I ever really payed attention too. That and after putting all his knights on the catwalk he topped of the show by dressing up like an astronaut, now that's rocking.

Also I think seeing this collection is the demarcation in time where I went from, "Oh fashion, that's nice" to "Holy crap that's art".

I have to say that out of all the designers that i have researched in my career as a fashion designer, Alexander McQueen steals the limelight for me.
His work is more than fantastic. He is such a beautiful artist, so outspoken and not afraid of making a statement. He pushes all boundaries of fashion, good and bad. His work is exquisite and so well crafted. His Kate Moss hieroglyphic was beautiful, and he always has such timeless themes and ideas in his fashion.
He is a beautiful, beautiful artist with such a wonderful vision. I fell in love with his work in 2007 in an Apparel class.
Some of my favorites from his work:

Hologram of Kate Moss:

He shows up to his shows in bunny suits and kilts: [and live animals.. freaking awesome ]

Good choices guys!

Aside from Karl Lagerfeld and the standard Dior Homme, my favourite designer would have to be Antwerp Six's Ann Demeulemeester - particularly her menswear collection.

I've always been interested in how European and Japanese designers interpret traditional English and American tailoring.

Ann Demeulemeester's pieces are so easy to wear. Whether you aim for a well traveled goth ninja look or something more polished, her pieces can be easily adjusted. The design is incredible. She brings out this organic natural free spirited feeling from the clothes. Something which you don't usually see in black wool fabrics.

I love the fur as well

hehe

Loved the boots in this collection

Elsa Schiaparelli! Dared to be avant garde, made fashion fun when others took themselves too seriously, pioneered some of todays fashion staples, and best of all, collaborated with Salvador Dali.
