As I get around a fair bit I'd be interested to hear where others like to eat?

One of my personal favourites (and not just for the food, but for the excellent bar) is The Trust in Melbourne. From their website, "The Trust is located in the grandeur of the former Port of Melbourne Authority building, in Flinders Lane between Market Street and William Street. The Trust revels, not only in its historical influences, but as the most prestigious bar and restaurant in this part of Melbourne."

Food-wise, can't go past Musashi in Central. Japanese food and the best dessert menu I've ever seen in an Asian restaurant; I can name them all. The green tea brulee is divine as is the parfait and the black sesame icecream dessert. I've been there I think 5-6 times in the last month or so =P The takoyaki there is excellent too - comes in a entree hotpot with egg as well. Otherwise, I like Wildfire near the Overseas Passenger Terminal too. Will add more as I remember; I reeeeallly like my food.

The Italian Waiters Club - Meyers Place, in Melbourne, across from Loop Bar. Not fine dining, but a hidden gem with wonderful history and character. You go there to talk and break bread.

Another favourite - Jazushi at Surry Hills. The most gorgeous fusion of French and Japanese with live jazz music and the cosiest intimate atmosphere imaginable. Good in winter, not so much in summer as it's fairly small. Highly recommend the seafood platter and the camembert tempura mmmmmmm. =D
