I am a 22 yo normal and straight boy. It happens to really like the over-the-knee boots "trend", that, by the way, has also been propsed by some stylists for us guys too!
I've been looking for a long time for a nice pair of boots for myself that would look perfectly unisex and simple, to wear them above jeans sometimes.
I like a lot these. What do you think? Every tip is so welcome! :D

I think you will have a very hard time pulling this off.

Over the knee boots are extremely feminine in my opinion.
I don't think it would be a great look for heterosexual men.
Even knee high boots can be a struggle to pull off for men.

Here's an example of a male in over the knee boots.

i think the reason they work on women is that they contrast with an image of femininity. They kind of evoke super heroes etc. On a man though, they could very easily read "serial killer," or "crazy henchmen in the latest Saw movie." That said, the right person with the right styling could probably pull them off.

thanks everbody for your replies :D
actually the topic is a bit particular i think. i can assure you that all the fashion experts i've contacted told me to go for it, while all the people i've asked that are not related with fashion were divided in their opinions, some said yes (mostly girls), some said no (both girls and boys)
I totally agree with ruru and allan that is going to be tough, but still i consider that this kind of footwear was inspired for men during the renaissance and today is almost "prohibited" for men. Could it be because men simply didn't use to wear them anymore??? and only for this reason?? as most of you know Givenchy launched a thigh boot trend for men but these boots were not what i'm talking about and his style is more an haute couture style than an everyday dresscode.. like what Chester posted, and i agree it's not so goodlooking but it's because of the whole outfit and personal style of that guy.
Devin's point of view is interesting because of the contrast and that's what my question is based on basically. when women started wearing otk boots it was like crossdressing but then this trend became universal and accepted. maybe if someone has the right styling and achieves a good combination in his look can indeed pull them off and, why not, make others think about it positively...

by the way, this is what i have in mind would look like more or less(found on the web), even though the boots i posted would look way better!

(in the middle pic it's a guy wearing those boots, i bet you cannot tell the difference! isn't it unisex then?)

I think you can pull it off! Made me think of King Henry VIII...pair it with a rustic shirt (with vivid trims maybe?) and tight pants. It would look fantastic. Think of Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Henry VIII in The Tudors.

Well to be honest the best way to pull it off, in this case would be to go with a more masculine pair. That is for everday ready-to-wear.
For ETC... Somthing more like a pirate/Military -But no Lacing all the way up-, or finding the pair you have submited above with a few buttons, straps, patches, you know improve a little. If you make the focal point the fact they are boots and boots alone and everyone can't help but to admire them. Then we will have success...

Mainstreem of Course............

For the club they are fine depending on your style for the night.

Enjoy ;}

The public sometimes need to be easyed into such a fashion forward world. Lol Not like us however.

they could give off an equestrian vibe if you wore them right, say with riding pants or a riding jacket. though they are very feminine - youd have to really know what youre doing to pull this off.
