KMS have two great ranges which I have used in the salon on a regular basis to combat unruly curls. KMS Curlup which is designed to enhance and control wayward curls and KMS Flatout which can be used to tame, relax and smooth curls. Both ranges contain creamy shampoos, conditioners and styling products such as relaxing balms and control cremes which are perfect for gals with curly hair. If your hair is prone to frizziness then I would suggest that you apply a relaxing balm and allow your hair to air dry naturally. If you must use a blow dryer, use a diffuser on a low setting and dry by cupping hair with your hands from below (never scrunch curls, you'll just invite frizz). In regards to a hair cut it really depends on a number of factors such as face shape, hair texture, current hair length and the time that you have to style your hair. I would suggest finding a good Stylist that understands your hair and your hair needs - find a stylist who has curly hair herself. All good stylists offer free hair consultations so take advantage of this. Your best cut will probably be something longer in length with layers cut in to alleviate some of the fullness. Hope this helps. :)

Hi nic, KMS have a website which shows available stockists http://www.kmscalifornia.com/ Alternatively, you could try eBay.

KMS is the BEST for curls, it's the only thing that I've found that works and still looks natural.

Does it work on relatively short curls my hair just reaches over my eyes fringe and my neck when straightened..

i use a relaxer on my hair when it gets too annoying- i tend to straighten it a lot too- I have loose curls but they still manage to drive me insane

I was wondering if people knew of any really good curling booster products for people with dead-straight hair? I've been using a Kerastace curl-booster and a sea-spray spritzer but they add volume rather than boost any curls.

Is your hair like this?

If so, we're the same. I've got very thick and curly hair too. Here's what I think works best: keep your hair fairly long (below your chin, shoulder-lenght is best). That way, the curls will be weighted down and won't be as tightly coiled. Well, they should. Have shorter layers added to it, but beware not having them cut too short! A good hairdresser will know how long to keep them. Right now, I'm letting my hair grow, so I don't have layers, and the difference is obvious.

I have a greek friend who has hair that's even curlier than mine. She looks like a greek statue. In her case, no matter the lenght of her hair, the curls stays tightly coiled. She used to wear her hair at waist-lenght and it looked splendid. I asked her how she does it and here's what she told me: shampoo your hair only when it's needed and use some styling cream or gel, but never on a humid day!

My natural hair colour is fairly dark, so I had my hair lightened much to help show the curl definition. With my natural colour, all you could see was a blurry (huge) mass of dark curls and I looked ridiculous. And don't think your hair is so dark you need to do that, though. So, just avoid dark dyes, you've been warned!
