im a mum and want ppls opinion on whether or not a mum could make it in this industry.
i have been told i have the personalty the looks and bla bla bla you no what i mean. but does having a child affect the way ppl view my ability to do it.
I'd say it remains solely with the person them self. Certainly being a mum itself doesn't have to prohibit anything, if Natalia Vodianova is anything to go by.
It can be restricting in terms of your availability, but if you have no problem arranging for someone to care for your child at the drop of a hat then by all means go for it.
Don't ever take your child to a shoot. O.o At least not until you're so famous people wont care how distracted you are during shots.
Well I'm about to become a mum and my agency have been a great support and I can't wait to get back working with them. There's also another girl at my agency and she has twins and it's never held her back! I think it's a great way of keeping identity as a person instead of just a mum! The only time I would advise against it is if you're doing the kind of modeling you wouldn't want your child to see! Like Dancia said just make sure you can get a child minder!
I run an agency as well as do Spray Tanning... allot of the girls on my books and the girls i spray are actually mums... its quite interesting just how many of them are mums...
But like the others said... its a personal thing... if you can can work around the modelling... the definantly...
Tracey :-)
