perth shopping secrets

Having lived in Perth for two years as a buyer, amazingly I now really miss my favourite haunts! I thought I'd get a list started that you lovely perth gals can continue, cause as we know sometimes it can be hard being so isolated from vogue capitals melb and syd :)

Memory Lane - Beauford St Mt Lawley.
Now as much as I can't handle the good old Memory Lane on a good day, their shop at the front of the store has some fab bargains. The stock is ex-rental or too delicate to be a rental, so you will often find a genuine original, albeit you will pay for it!!
You wouldn't expect : a huge range of diamonte and costume jewellery... so sparkly!
My top buy : a 1960's black plastic beaded on raffia purse that always attracts comments.

Eldorado - 331 Murray St Perth
In my mind its gone down in recent times but they used to stock tafe graduating fashion students collections there, and still do occasionally. A little over priced but I've always found something individual and unique and very funky.

Homecraft Textiles - 1093 Albany Highway, Vic Park.
For you girls who sew, you'll already know this place but if your after fabrics, habby etc, you'll find a much better range than spotlight could ever dream about!
You wouldn't expect : a large range of Indian sari's.

Collette Dinnigan - Lv 3, Dj's in the city.
Yes its a boutique and the grils are absolutly lovely, even if you are just looking. They can get in anything available in the other boutiques, inc Paddington and Chapel St stand alones.
You wouldn't expect : they go on sale when David Jones do!

Urban Depot - Oxford St Leederville
Past the records and cd's, you'll find a really good selection of pants! They stock original perth designers also so if you like to be individual you may have to try on a few pieces here. And their one shelf of homewares and cute stuff always has me impulse buying...

Hustle - High St Freo
Four local girls have their own brand each and sell from the one shop. I tend to stick to one designer but the other three make some awesome pieces. Their workshop is upstairs on the mezz. level and if you have the time and money they can make to order. If I was ever going to need bridesmaids I'd go here!!! The fabric is mainly imported and is such good quality. I'd liken it to having your own fashion week in one store. Defiantly go there.
My top buy : off their sale rack, a black strapless heavy canvas dress, $200 reduced to $40 - have worn so many times its worth its weight in gold!

Off the Wall - Market St Freo
More great vintage - not only clothes but housewares.

Diamond Aps - 8 Wray Ave, Freo.
Perth's one and only men's only recycling boutique. Have a great selection of men's vintage and men's pants, I've always found what I'm looking for. Along this street there are a few more vintage / recyling boutiques but from memory they seem to move or shut down quickly... worth a look anyway. Its freo style with out all the Claremont chicks stalking it out every Saturday.

Ok so that's about it! I know I've left off trillions, like Elle in Nedlands, and every good shop in Subi, but i figured you'd all know these ones!

Please add more to my list... Share the shopping secrets :)
