Hair of epic proportions

Written by Daniel P Dykes

If there's one 2010 hair trend that deserves to be taken to epic proportions it's side braided hair, snapped here on models Dorothea Barth Jorgensen and Amanda Norgaard.

The pair were spotted outside the Miu Miu show by Craig from Altamira, who was kind enough to dig up a few little facts about the hair braid and it's role on the Spring 2010 catwalks:

The braids are hair extensions as designed by the lead Hair Stylist Guido Palau. The difference between the extensions he designed for Miu Miu and Alexander Wang that I can see is that the extensions at Miu Miu were worn from the middle where the extensions from Alexander Wang were worn from the side.

Traditionalist and futurist are two of the labels applied to Daniel, but he sees the two as being in perfect balance. With a keen eye on the future and his finger on the pulse he helps keep fashionisers everywhere ahead in the fashion stakes as Fashionising.com's lead fashion trend analyst. Believing that the late-2000s credit crisis will be ultimately good for fashion, Daniel sees a future for fashion where grounded in traditional values; where luxury fashion again comes to represent quality production as opposed to being solely label driven.

Currently based in Melbourne, Daniel is Fashionising.com's Editor in Chief and Chairman.
