For any designer, their first fashion week show is a huge milestone which is why even the smallest details are important. Everything has to look great: the hair, the make up, everything. Han the Label, the brand of designer Khim Hang, debuted it’s first collection recently at Australian fashion week (MBFWA) and to make sure everything looked perfect, he teamed up with ghd to create a debut hairstyle.

Robert Bava of ghd was the man behind the ultra smooth and shiny look for the show. This went well with the white, minimalist look of the collection that also had some ’90s influence in it. It’s a collection that greatly coincides with the sportswear fashion trend of this year. Chic and very urban, the look we saw in this show is one that will be great to try this year and you can start with the hair. Read on after the break for the complete how-to.

How to: minimal, althetic-luxe hairstyle

Start by prepping your damp hair by applying ghd total volume foam from the roots to the ends. Blow-dry using ghd air to create maximum volume through the root area.

Starting at the nape of the neck, section horizontal sections of hair. Then, using ghd’s eclipse styler and the ghd oval dressing brush, smooth out the hair ensuring there are no buckles around the hairline area.

Gather two sections of hair from both sides of the face, leaving the top section loose. Work ghd smooth and finish serum into the two side sections, pulling towards the back of the head to ensure they are smooth. Secure with an elastic.
Smooth the top section of hair over the secured sides and tie off into a ponytail below the center join.
Wrap a white cord around the top section of pony tail, about one and a half inches in length.

Finish with ghd final shine spray for extra shine.

There’s always something sexy about looking sporty. This hairstyle is a good mix of girly and sporty that will surely look chic on almost anyone.
