Against the bright hues, asymmetric cuts and chunky accessories of Ginger & Smart’s spring 2012 / 2013 collection at Australian fashion week (MBFWA), the crest-like hairstyles morphed into exotic bird-like plumage. But viewed on their own, off the runway and backlit into near silhouettes, the mohawked styles looked more akin to something you’d catch in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Whatever your association, they were visually striking to say the least.
