News of the impending closure of Parisian design house, Rochas, has left the fashion world in mourning. It was announced yesterday that Proctor & Gamble, owners of Rochas, are to retire from the fashion scene.

The Telegraph reports, “the famous French fashion house dates back to 1924, when it was founded by Marcel Rochas, a lively and enthusiastic couturier who is credited as being the creator of the two-thirds length coat and the first to put pockets in skirts.”

In his past three years as creative director, Olivier Theyskens, 29, has built up Rochas ready-to-wear strongly and steadily, recently picking up the International CFDA Award for his contribution.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
